The foundation of ICET

The foundation of ICET

The history of ICET began in 1993. The increasing international need for specific training in handling hydraulic rescue equipment resulted in the foundation of the International Centre for Extrication Techniques.

ICET started to develop of training which featured a fully integrated systematic approach. Training and exercises showed an interdisciplinary character, which resulted in a modified curriculum. The name of the organization was therefore changed into the more appropriate International Centre for Emergency Techniques (ICET).

ICET introduced the 7-step method called SAVER (Systematic Approach to Vital Emergency Response), which has been received and enthusiastically implemented by several countries that have used ICET training and techniques.

As a consequence of its rapid international growth, ICET has often been asked to provide consultancy assistance and has become involved in project development and implementation. We have worked internationally on a diverse range projects. Our partners include the World Bank, the European Union, Caritas and several European, Asian and Latin American governments.

Whether the project location is The Netherlands or international, our extensive expertise and experience is always applied to its full extent for every new assignment.
